According to The Washington Post, Ardern’s statement was murmured, but it was still captured by on-site microphones and recorded in the parliamentary proceedings.

Jacinda Ardern, the prime minister of New Zealand, apologized following last week’s hot mic incident in which she was discovered cursing at another MP.

When David Seymour, the leader of the libertarian ACT party, urged Ardern to give an example of her “making a mistake, appropriately apologising for it, and rectifying it,” the liberal could be heard calling the libertarian “such an arrogant p—-.”

According to The Washington Post, Ardern’s statement was murmured, but it was still captured by on-site microphones and recorded in the parliamentary proceedings.

On Wednesday, 42-year-old Ardern stated, “I’m aware that remarks I made in the House yesterday regarding the leader of the Act Party were recorded on the Hansard. “In light of that, I desire to formally retract and apologize for those words in this House, which I won’t repeat.”

Ardern attracted laughter when she responded, “Yes, Mr. Speaker insults and apologies,” when New Zealand National Leader Christopher Luxon asked if she stands by “all her remarks and deeds,” the New Zealand Herald writes.

When asked why she and Sanna Marin, the youngest prime minister in the world and the prime minister of Finland, were meeting, Ardern responded sharply, making headlines earlier this month.

Many people will be wondering: Are you two meeting only because you’re similar in age and have a lot in common there when you went into politics and stuff…? one reporter said during the briefing.

Ardern called out the query and answered with her own.

First, I want to know if anyone ever questioned whether Barack Obama and John Key connected because of their similar ages. She spoke. Of course, there are more men in politics than women.
