Blake Shelton has chosen to make a stride back from his training obligations on The Voice following a 12-year ride.

On Tuesday, the “God’s Country” vocalist declared that the following time of the singing rivalry show would be his last — stamping 23 successive seasons with the show before his exit.

“I’ve been grappling with this for some time, and I’ve concluded that it’s the ideal opportunity for me to back away from The Voice after season 23,” the 46-year-old nation star wrote in an Instagram post. “This show has completely changed me all around to improve things, and it will constantly feel like home to me.”

He proceeded, “It’s been an amazing ride over these 12 years of seat turns, and I need to thank everybody at ‘The Voice’ from NBC, each maker, the essayists, performers, group, and providing food individuals, you are awesome. It takes a ton of work, energy, and grown-up refreshments (Ha!) to pull off a live show two times per week.”

Shelton then pondered the connections he developed on the show — and gave a whoop to the hopefuls.

“I’ve made deep-rooted bonds with Carson and every one of my kindred mentors throughout the long term, including my better half, Gwen Stefani! I need to give an enormous holler to the vocalists – the ‘Voices’ who come on this stage a large number of seasons and stun us with their ability and an exceptional thanks to the people who picked me to be their mentor.”
